Hat Fitz & Cara
Hat Fitz and Cara Robinson will be over in Northern Ireland in June 2025, from their Australian home, and we've managed to tempt them to England, so this will be your only chance to catch them. They impressed us so much in 2011 that we asked them to come all the way back from Australia to support Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra the year after - they are very, very good.

Theirs is a unique sound, blending pre-war hill country and delta blues with early Australian folk and traditional Celtic styles.

“They pack more energy, emotion and sheer musical exuberance into one song than most manage in a whole career”
Spiral Earth, UK

Hat Fitz is a 'veteran' wild man of the blues scene in Australia. He has a record 18 straight appearances at Byron’s East Coast Blues and Roots Festival, a record that is not likely to ever be broken, and one which bears testimony to his amazing live performances and popularity with festival goers.

Cara (originally from N. Ireland) draws on her soul background. She’s toured Europe and the United States with singers such as Jamiroquai and Corinne Bailey. And although blessed with a sensational voice she was not content to be labelled as ‘just a singer’. She has taken to drumming duties as well as washboards, flute and tin whistle, sometimes all at once.

"One person literally blew my mind. I was walking past the blues tent looking to find something for breakfast, when a voice belted out of the ether that left me standing still in the middle of the path and listening. What a voice!! ...two people, a woman playing drums (and singing) and a man playing guitar. Cara Robinson the singing drummer, has to my ear the finest female blues voice I have ever heard in Australia - bar none"
Sam Cutler, ex-manager for The Rolling Stones and The Grateful Dead

Together this pair will take you on a musical journey with ample, boisterous highs, and longing, bluesy lows. From the Australian outback to the Canadian shield, Hat Fitz & Cara put on a show that is guaranteed to energize and invigorate.

“Hat Fitz and Cara have the songs, the musical ability, the drive and the self belief to offer something refreshingly vibrant and new”
Get Ready To Rock – Pete Feenstra
